After I get my residence visa, what do I need to sponsor my spouse and kids?

The document sequence for a family residence file after your own visa exists — attested certificates, medical, housing proof — without a salary quote.

Family documents — sponsoring a spouse and children after a UAE residence visa

Sponsoring a spouse or child is a document sequence that starts after your own residence exists. It is not a quiz about which visa you should apply for, and it is not a promise that a given salary is enough. If a page quotes a dirham threshold, treat that number as something to read on u.ae the week you file.

Your file comes first

Family residence is sponsored. The sponsor's passport and valid residence are on the government document list, along with the dependant's passport. Emirates ID for you is the identity step that usually has to exist before banks, leases, and family files move. The arrival order is in the Emirates ID timeline. Read the family page itself: u.ae — residence visa for family members.

Documents, in the order they usually block you

  1. Your passport copy and evidence of your own valid residence.
  2. The dependant's passport, photo, and entry permit, as the provisions page lists them.
  3. An attested marriage certificate for a spouse, and an attested birth certificate for a child. The UK chain is which UK documents to attest. Start that before you fly if you already know the family is coming.
  4. Medical fitness, where the family-visa page requires it. The order of the test and biometrics is in medical test and biometrics. This page does not restate who must take it.
  5. Housing evidence: a certified lease or proof you own a residence. In Dubai that registration is Ejari; do not substitute an unsigned viewing.

The wider document list on u.ae also covers cases this page does not walk through (divorce, widowhood, students). Open the primary page for those. We do not print a salary rule or a deposit.
